<p>PURPOSE:To provide an room air conditioner capable of sufficiently supplying air-conditioning air evenly to the whole region in the room, capable of widely ensuring effective space in the room and also having maintenance properties. CONSTITUTION:A partitioning member 5 is installed between a free access floor 3 and a floor slab 2 and a section between the free access floor and the floor slab is partitioned into upper and lower two layers, and a plurality of small-sized air-conditioning units 6 are arrayed with air supply ports facing an upper layer 35 respectively. The periphery of the upper layer 35 is closed and used as an air-supply chamber, and a lower layer 52 is communicated with the inside of a ceiling 47 through path space 72. The supply openings 30... of air-conditioning air are formed to the free access floor 3, and scavenging ports 40 discharging air returned to the air-conditioning units 6... are formed to the ceiling 4.
