PURPOSE:To provide the subject new compound useful as a raw material for photo-sensitive polyimide resin, etc. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formula I (R<1> to R<3> are 1-10C univalent hydrocarbon group; n is 1-20), e.g. the compound of formula II. The compound of formula I can be produced by the co-hydrolysis of a 3-(dichloroorganosilyl)propyl methacrylate of formula III and a chloro(4'-phthalic anhydride)diorganosilane of formula IV.
