PURPOSE:To obtain a underwater antifouling agent containing no heavy metal having possibility of environmental pollution, low in pollution, capable of exhibiting antifouling effect on various kinds of aquatic polluted organisms for a long period and simultaneously exhibiting excellent preparation characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The objective underwater antifouling agent having the above- mentioned effect is obtained by blending a compound of formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H, halogen or 1-4C alkyl) as an active ingredient and preferably further combinedly using one or more kinds of compounds selected from compounds of (a) 2-(thiocyanomethylthio)benzothiazole, (c) tetrachloroisophthalonitrile, (d) a compound of formula II (R is 1-4C alkyl) and (e) a compound of formula III [X<1> and X<2> are H, 1-4C alkyl or at least either one thereof is halogen (when the other is not halogen, solubility of the compound measured using VU method is 0.5-500ppm); Y is 1-18C alkyl which may have a substituent group (halogen, OH, CN, etc.), 2-18C non-substituted or halo-substituted-alkenyl or alkynyl, etc.] as active ingredients. |
