PURPOSE:To sufficiently recover the ink spouted into a cap by providing a recording means by means of delivery of ink, a thermal energy feed means, a capping means for sealing the delivery forming surface of the recording means, and a forced restoring means. CONSTITUTION:When a flashing mode is selected, judgement of step 1 becomes Yes and heating is effected by a heater for thermal insulation until a predetermined temperature is reached. Since fine bubbles of air tend to remain in a head because of temperature control at high temperature, restoration is performed by steps S4-S6 under ordinary drawing restoration conditions in order to remove the bubbles. When the drawing has been completed, a cap is removed from a recording head (step 7) and then the ink in the cap is removed under ordinary drawing mode (step S8, S9), following which, at step 10, the delivery port forming surface of the recording head is cleaned further by means of a wiper blade to obviate the cause for generation of condensation. |
