PURPOSE:To obtain a radiation detector capable of constituting a pile-up removing circuit of good accuracy and effectively operated even when a radiation incident position detecting area is large. CONSTITUTION:The electron incident surface of a Rast dynode 7 is divided into a plurality of regions and incident event detection circuits 10 are connected to the respective divided regions. The respective event detection circuits 10 take out the detection outputs of an electron of the respective divided regions respectively independently within a real time to output the same to a pile-up detection circuit 11. The pile-up detection circuit 11 discriminates that there is pile-up when the electron detection outputs from the event detection circuits 10 are two or more within an integrating time of positional operation to output an output prohibiting signal.
