PURPOSE: To obtain a 3-junction SQUID(superconducting quantum interference device) mixer capable of using for upward converting an ultra-low frequency signal or downward converting a high-frequency signal to minimize and solve the problem of a quantum noise limit. CONSTITUTION: The mixer capable of using for mixing two input magnetic flux signalsΦ1 ,Φ2 by coupling a nonlinear element such as a Josephson junction 14 to a DC SQUID formed of other two nonlinear elements such as Josephson junctions 10, 12 and two input coils L1 , L2 is obtained.
