PURPOSE:To obtain a degreased body with a high dimensional precision in a short time by solidifying slurry cast in a porous mold, burying the porous mold in a powdery pressure medium, applying isotropic or quasi-isotropic pressure to a molded body buried in the pressure medium, and decomposing thermally. CONSTITUTION:The selection of a material, as a main component of a dispersion medium, having a melting point of 0-100 deg.C facilitates the solidification or liquefaction of slurry of a dispersed metallic or ceramic powder to make the formation of a molded body easy. A porous mold can also absorb the dispersion medium to discharge it outside. The slurry, which is cast into the porous mold, is solidified by cooling and pressured externally at 1kg/cm<2> or more but 10,000kg/cm<2> or less to let the pressure medium penetrate into the pores of the porous mold, giving the direct action to the molded body. The molded body is pressurized uniformly to give a product with a increased density of uniform distribution and without minor defects such as sink marks. |
