PURPOSE:To contract the exclusive area of a covering apparatus covering the outer surface of a cylindrical substrate with a strip like article composed of a plastic material by shortening the length in the paddle axial direction of each of kneading means by forming kneading spaces over many stages to provide the kneading means in the kneading spaces of the respective stages. CONSTITUTION:Two substrate support devices 2 supporting a cylindrical substrate P in a freely rotable manner are parallelly arranged on both sides of a running device 10 equipped with the running truck 15 reciprocally moved on a guide rail 12. A multi-mix feeder 20 is supported on the support stand 17 of the running truck 15 in a freely revolvable manner and a strip like article molding device 21 and a strip like article covering device 24 are provided under the feeder 20. A strip like article S is supplied from the molding device 21 while the running truck 15 is moved to be bonded to the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical substrate P and, after the cylindrical substrate P is rotated by a predetermined angle, the same processing is repeated to perform the covering processing of the adjacent strip like article of the next row. The feeder 20 is constituted by vertically forming kneading spaces in a housing 65 over many stages and providing kneading blades at every stages.
