PURPOSE:To provide a heat-sensitive recording material which has high sensitivity, high picture quality, little adhesion of dregs to a heat-sensitive head and high-speed recording properties, by making use of a low-cost substrate. CONSTITUTION:An undercoating layer containing an oil absorbing pigment is provided on a substrate whose degree of stockigt sizing is at least 5 seconds and not exceeding 10 seconds by making use of blade coating and a heat- sensitive recording layer is provided on the undercoating layer. Then this is a heat-sensitive recording material wherein 1-5wt.% carboxy methyl cellulose having an etherification degree of 0.6-0.8 and mean molecular weight of 20,000-200,000 is used to a pigment. |
