PURPOSE:To obtain a freezer and refrigerator provided with a detachable deodorant and antimicrobial device which is obtained by coupling in a unit a deodorant catalyst filter and an antimicrobial filter and has a very simple constitution and is free from a maintenance for a long time. CONSTITUTION:A deodorant and antimicrobial device obtained by coupling in a cassette unit a manganese oxide system deodorant catalyst 9 and an antimicrobial filter 11 containing a silver compound is mounted detachably at a suction port for returning cool air, so that both deodorating and antimicrobial treatments can be done by utilizing a flow of cool air within a refrigerating chamber. The antimicrobial filter 11 may be colored. On the both sides of the deodorant and antimicrobial device, a cool air bypass is formed, in precaution of the case of clogging. The antimicrobial filter 11 is arranged at a lower part of the deodorant catalyst 9, that is, inside the refrigerating chamber. By this, even if the deodorant catalyst 9 is broken, the filter 11 serves as a receiving tray, and therefore, there is no fear that broken pieces of the deodorant catalyst 9 drop down into the refrigerating chamber. |
