PURPOSE:To keep a freezer and refrigerator clean for a long time by a method wherein a deodorating and antimicrobial means made of a deodorating filter having an oxide of a transit metal element as a catalyst component and an antimicrobial filter using an organic element containing silver or the like is provided at a suction port of a return passage of cooled air. CONSTITUTION:In a freezer and refrigerator, cool air cooled by an evaporator 9 is sent dividedly by a cool air circulating fan 9 into a freezing chamber 2 and a refrigerating chamber 3 in directions indicated by arrows. The cool air within the refrigerating chamber 3 cools the refrigerating chamber 3 by circulating in the chamber 3, and then returns to the evaporator 11 through a cool air return passage 12 of refrigerating chamber cool air, which is provided in a partition 6, and this circulation is repeated. In this case, a clean cassette 18 is provided detachably at an entrance A of the cool air return passage 12. This clean cassette 18 is made of a lower case 17, an antimicrobial filter 15 which employs an inorganic element containing silver or silver compound, a deodorating manganese catalyst 13 as a deodorating filter, and an upper case, which are stacked in this order. Further the upper case 16 and the lower case 17 are coupled integrally by engaging each other with nails. |
