The invention relates to a device for packing wire 4 in a barrel 23 using a reeling motion. The reeling motion is effected by means of a wire guide tube 18, which rotates and has its feed-in end centred in relation to the rotation motion and has the outer end terminating approximately with the radius which the finished loop is to have. In order to ensure that the wire which can be taken out of the barrel when the wire is at some time to be used has no tendency whatsoever to rotate, the wire is secured against rotation, immediately before being fed into the wire guide tube 18, by means of an advancement wheel 8 and a pressure belt 9 embracing this advancement wheel. An exact insertion of each loop turn is thereby achieved, so that afterwards, when the wire is reeled out, it does not acquire any sort of tendency to rotate. <IMAGE> |
