The method for bonding a blended rubber and a steel cord comprises (a) adding an epoxidated squalene oxide (SQOX) to the blended rubber of natural rubber, sulphur, vulcanization accelerator, zinc oxide, antiaging agent, processing oil, cobalt salt and carbon black, (b) inserting a steel cord coated with zinc-copper (Zn-Cu) or copper-zinc-nickel (Cu/Zn/Ni) into the blended rubber, and (c) bond-vulcanizing the blended material by the use of a tire cord adhesion test (TCAT) mold. The SQOX is prepd. by reacting an m-chloroper benzoic acid-dissolved chloroform soln. with a squalene.
