PURPOSE:To make it possible to pick up an image having a broad latitude by using a TV camera with a built-in solid-state image sensor through which photoelectric converting characteristics are so controllable. CONSTITUTION:When a photoelectric converting control is not carried out as shown by a broken line in the case of photoelectric converting characteristic diagram of TV camera 4 with a built-in solid-state image sensor, its characteristics undergo a change linearly, having a constant slant until an output signal current of TV camera 4 will saturate (saturation point is S). However if the photoelectric converting control is performed as shown by a solid line, its characteristics are bent at a point of K and at an illuminance area beyond the point of K, its characteristic curve has a less inclination. Accordingly, a width L of an incident illuminance becomes larger in comparison with an instance where the photoelectric converting control is not conducted and such a situation enables the TV camera 4 to obtain the image having the broad latitude. |
