PURPOSE:To obtain a composition which can give an open-cellular foam having a fine and uniform celluar structure and excellent compression property, water absorptivity, weathering resistance, etc., by mixing an ethylene resin with a specified blowing agent, an organic peroxide crosslinking agent, an alpha-olefin- modified surfactant and a process oil. CONSTITUTION:A composition for open-cellular ethylene resin foam is prepared by mixing 100pts.wt. ethylene resin (A) (e.g., polyethylene) with 1-20pts.wt. blowing agent (B) (e.g., azodicarbonamide) having an initial decomposition temperature of 120-160 deg.C which is equal to the m.p. of the ethylene resin +20-70 deg.C and a final decomposition temperature of 150-210 deg.C, 0.3-5pts.wt. organic peroxide crosslinking agent (C) of a 1min half-life temperature of 140-190 deg.C (e.g., dicumyl peroxide), 0.1-10pts.wt. alpha-olefin-modified surfactant (D) (e.g., polyoxyethylene lauryl ether) and 0.1-30pts.wt. process oil (E). |
