<p>PURPOSE:To provide a coder capable of improving the efficiency of vector distortion evaluation and executing the vector quantization of a continuously inputted information signal in real time without generating large signal deterioration. CONSTITUTION:The coder 1 is constituted of a data storing circuit 2, a linear prediction circuit 3, a sound source circuit 4, a distortion evaluating circuit 5, and a control circuit 6, a threshold for distortion between the input pattern of an inputted information signal and a representative vector is prepared, and when a representative vector applying distortion less than the threshold is obtained, the succeeding vector retrieval is stopped. At the time of shifting to the coding of the succeeding frame, the threshold is properly controlling in accordance with the quantity of data storage to execute the vector quantization of the continuously inputted information signal in real time.</p> |
