<p>PURPOSE:To provide the magnetic recording and reproduction device equipped with a speed detecting means for a magnetic tape which is suitably reduced in size. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with an endless belt 30 which is driven by the rotation of a capstan 14 as fast as the magnetic tape 1 or at a proportional speed and has an FG signal generating means 30 for generating an FG signal corresponding to the travel speed, and an FG signal detecting means 31. Further, the device is equipped with a belt-driving capstan driving means 26 which drives the endless belt 30 having the FG signal generating means 30a and transmits power by the endless belt 30 to drive the capstan 14.</p> |
