PURPOSE: To provide electric wire which is efficiently flame retardant and does not emit undesirable gases. CONSTITUTION: This electric wire comprise a long electric conductor, a primary insulator 1 formed of a polymer material, and a primary jacket 2 surrounding the primary insulator and brought into contact with the whole circumference of the primary insulator. The primary jacket 2 contains a cross-linked polymer and a halogen-free granular inorganic flame retardant which releases water at the time of being heated, is treated with lactic acid, and has efficiency to increase fracture point elongation of the polymer composition at 200 deg.C to at least 50%. |
