PURPOSE: To improve durability by filling free spaces among metal filaments with a material which is softened or melted by heating. CONSTITUTION: In a metal cord constituted of a large number of filaments or metal electric wires 1 coated together, thermoplastic bundles or a large number of bundles of a filling material are so arranged in free spaces 5 among metal filaments or metal electric wires as to melt or soften or crimp the bundles under heating among the filaments or metal electric wires and fill the free spaces 5 with the materials of the bundles by the effect of heat and the capillary function. Consequently, the bundle of a metal cord is made to be air tight and provided with improved fatigue strength. |
