PURPOSE:To reduce the first copy time by scanning optically an original and storing picture data to a picture data memory when it is discriminated that an original is placed newly on an original platen so as to use effectively an operation time of picture edit. CONSTITUTION:The copying machine is divided roughly into a reader section 201 and a printer section 203, and an operation section 202 is provided to the reader section 201. The operation section 202 has an input section 14 provided with various operation keys and a display section 13 comprising an LCD or the like and with a photo sensor 12 detecting that the original is placed on the original platen glass. While the original advance read mode is set, when the original placed on the original platen glass is sensed by the sensor 12, the reading and storage of the original at that time are automatically implemented. While the operator makes edit operation, the picture is read and the first copy time is reduced by the time. |
