The invention relates to a new molecule derived from yohimbine, 11-hydroxyyohimbine, and, if appropriate, to its derivatives alkylated in the 11-position, possessing alpha 2-adrenergic blocking properties. This molecule has a plasma half-life in man which is longer than that of yohimbine and an alpha 2-adrenergic receptor antagonist power which makes it possible to include it in a medicament possessing lipolytic, platelet anti-aggregant, salivary anti-dryness or hypoglycaemic properties or any property consistent with blocking alpha 2-adrenergic receptors.
