PURPOSE:To make a casing thin and to prevent an image made incident from the screen of a display device on an image pickup device from being picked up by disposing linear polarizing plates intersecting orthogonally with each other on the respective front faces of the display device and the image pickup device. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with a display means 9 composed of an LCD or CRT and an image pickup means (television camera) 3, and an image 1 being an object (interactive person) is picked up through a half mirror 10 arranged on the front face of the display means 9 to the image pickup means 3. Mutually orthogonal linear polarizing plates 14 and 15 are disposed on the front faces of the display means 9 and the image pickup means 3. Thus, a video telephone set is constituted as a glance coincident type and even when the inclination of the half mirror 10 arranged on the front face of the LCD or the like for display is reduced rather than 45 deg., an image on the screen and the object 1 are not double projected on the television camera 3. Further, a wide angle lens can be used for the telephone system, and the dimension in the depth direction of a casing 8 can be reduced. |
