PURPOSE:To restrict the generation of gas and the liquid leakage at the time of charging a sealed alkaline storage battery, which is provided with a nickel pole, to obtain a battery having a high capacity and a long lifetime. CONSTITUTION:The alkali resistant binding agent having the water repellency is added to the active material mixture, which is mainly composed of nickel hydroxide, and it is formed into a sheet to form a nickel pole, and at least one or more of the formation including a charge at the charge quantity, of which upper limit is set at a real capacity of the nickel pole, is performed at the room temperature or a high temperature. With this structure and this formation, the generation of gas and the liquid leakage at the time of charging a sealed alkaline storage battery, which is provided with a nickel pole, is restricted to provide a battery having a high capacity and a long lifetime. |
