PURPOSE:To improve the melt flowability and fixation by specifying a softening temperature, a glass transition temperature and an average molecular weight of the polyester resin obtained from a naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and a specific aromatic diol component. CONSTITUTION:The polyester resin is obtained by condensing >=3 mol% naphthalenedicarboxylic acid or its lower alkyl component for the total acid components and >=10mol% aromatic diol component represented by the formula. The softening temperature T1/2 of the polyester resin is 85-160 deg.C, the glass transition temperature Tg is 40-90 deg.C and the average molecular weight Mw is 3000-40000. In the formula, R is a <=3C alkylene group and X and Y are defined by 2<X+Y<7. Here a naphthalene component increases the Tg, and imparts an antiblocking property and contributes to a moisture resistance due to its hydrophobic property. Also a naphthalene monomer imparts an aggregation property to the resin and is effective to increase Tg of the resin and to enhance an offset resistance property.
|
