A switch arrangement for controlling motors comprises a coil arrangement whose terminals can be connected to current sources by means of a commutating arrangement. To achieve faster acceleration and braking of the motor rotor, several or several groups of current sources can be connected simultaneously to the same terminals. In this way, a braking-inducing rotary field can be superimposed on an acceleration-inducing rotary field, without interrupting a hoop for the current sources which produce the acceleration-inducing rotary field. The invention is particularly applicable in digital or analog tape recorders. |
