PURPOSE:To provide a d.c. high voltage cable capable of preventing space- charge accumulation due to application of d.c. high voltage and providing such excellent heat resistance as an XLPE insulated cable. CONSTITUTION:The insulator of a d.c. power cable is formed of a resin composition made by cross-linking with organic peroxide a straight-chain low-density polyethylene having relative density of below 0.94g/cm<3> in which maleic anhydride is copolymerized, and carbonyl radicals of mateic anhydride act as polar group and are uniformly distributed in materials, so that trapping of space- charge may be prevented and at the same time d.c. withstand strength may be improved with reduction of space-charge, thereby providing a d.c. high voltage cable having excellent heat resistance. The insulator of the d.c. power cable is formed of a resin composition by cross-linking organic peroxide having a half-value period of not less than 5 hours at a temperature of 130 deg.C polyethylene in which maleic anhydride is copolymerized to make a d.c. high voltage cable which excels in d.c. characteristics including space-charge accumulation and provides good heat resistance. |
