PURPOSE:To improve and stabilize image quality by eliminating the measurement error of the measured surface potential value of a photosensitive body and stabilizing an electrostatic charge potential. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a potential sensor 111 for detecting the surface potential in a main scanning direction on the photosensitive drum 101, a RAM 303 for storing potential data detected at plural points in the main scanning direction on the photosensitive drum 101, a CPU 301 for performing an arithmetic processing for the plural potential data stored in the RAM 303 and calculating the correction value of the potential sensor 111 at each point in the main scanning direction, and an electrostatic charge distance adjusting means 308 for correcting the output value of the potential sensor 111 based on the correction value which is obtained by the CPU 301. |
