<p>PURPOSE:To provide a compact bar code reader which can read the bar codes with both hands of an operator set free. CONSTITUTION:A sensor unit S is attached at a 3rd joint part 11a of a forefinger 11 of the right hand 10 of an operator, and a decoder unit D is attached on the wrist 12 of the hand 10 respectively. A distribution refractive index type rod lens array, a CCD element, and a light source are provided in a flat cylinder 20 of the unit S. Then the cylinder 20 is abutted to a bar code 70 and at the same time the light is emitted to the code 70 from the light source. Thus the reflected light of the code 70 is made incident on the rod lens array and transmitted meanderingly through the lens array in response to the distribution refractive index. Then the reflected light is radiated to the CCD element. As a result, a decoder contained in the unit D decodes the photodetecting signals produced by the CCD element.</p> |
