PURPOSE:To exactly separate a stereo broadcasting and a voice multiplex broadcasting, etc., in a television signal converter at the reception side terminal equipment, etc., of a CATV system. CONSTITUTION:Respective first and second audio carrier signals FM modulated from a demodulating means 1 and the video signal of a base band are outputted, and these respective audio carrier signals are separated by a separation adjusting means 2. A signal level at least for one of the separated signals is adjusted and after the adjustment, the audio carrier signal is added to the video signal by an adding means 3 and modulated by a modulating means 4 so as to completely separate those signals without delay error between respective audio carrier signals and the error of a power rate. Further, since the first audio carrier signal uses the first audio carrier signal outputted from the demodulating means as it is without being demodulated, it is not necessary to execute FM modulation again, no local oscillator for FM modulation is required, and the degradation of modulating characteristics or accuracy caused by adjustment or drift can be prevented.
