<p>PURPOSE: To improve chemical and thermal resistance of a hose assembly with increased hoop and tensile strength by constructing the inner liner of the hose assembly from a polymeric fluorocarbon material and the outer liner from an expanded polyamide material. CONSTITUTION: The hose assembly comprises a tubular inner liner 12 and an outer liner 14 disposed surrounding the inner liner 12. The inner liner 12 is composed of a polymeric fluorocarbon material resistant to chemical and heat degradation. The outer liner 14 is composed of an expanded polyamide material to reinforce the hose assembly 10. The polymeric fluorocarbon material is resistant to fuels and fuel additives. The assembly 10 further includes a braiding layer 26 between the inner liner 12 and the outer liner 14 to improve hoop and tensile strength, and a conductive strip formed along the inner liner 12 for dissipating electrical charges accumulating along the inner liner 12.</p> |
