AUTOMATIC FIXING DEVICE FOR ELECTRIC-CABLE IDENTIFICATION TAB

PURPOSE:To provide an interposing device which links a machine for pressing a conductive terminal into contact with the end portion of an electric cable, organically to an automatic fixing machine for identification tabs and which is arranged near the former machine. CONSTITUTION:An automatic fixing device for electric-cable identification tabs (M) has: a rectilinear drive mechanism 22 which shuttles a moving body 20 toward a machine 10 for pressing a terminal into contact with the end portion of an electric cable; a clamping tool 30 for the end portion of the electric cable and which is supported on the pivot 23 of the moving body; a fixing machine 50 which fixes each of the identification tabs (M) to the end portion of the electric cable while taking them separately from a belt-like body B in a supply portion 40; and a rotational drive mechanism 24 which rotates the clamping tool 30 round the pivot 23 to a second posture at a specified angle with a travel path 21 from a first posture along the travel path 21 while the moving body moves away from a first position close to the machine 10 and then moves back to a second position close to the fixing machine 50. This device causes the clamping tool 30 to be opened so as to release the end portion of the electric cable in the process of returning the clamping tool to the first posture after the identification tub (M) is springily engaged with the end portion of the electric cable in the second posture of the clamping tool and then moving the moving body 20 toward the first position from the second position.
