PURPOSE: To enable expansion of a control range for a firing angle with respect to a low DC by determining the firing angle, a rectifying angle and a load angle, based on the measurement of rotor position and the DC level on the DC side of a converter to control energy conversion. CONSTITUTION: A converter circuit (CD) 40 is connected to a periodic machine 2 and a DC motor (DM). CD 40 causes a current Id to flow to DM. A DC measuring device 43 measures the value of a current Id to send it to a comparator (CM) 45, which compares the current Id with a set value of current supplied from a lead 46. The output of CM 45 is transmitted to a calculating means 48 so that firing, rectifying and load angles are determined. The firing angle and signals of the measurement of rotor position generated by a rotor-position detector 52 are transmitted to a pulse sequence control circuit (PS) 50. In this PS 50, gate controlling pulses are formed in such a way that each element constituting a semiconductor is controlled next, and transmitted to CD 40. |
