PURPOSE:To enhance the output of an engine and its fuel efficiency by constituting a knocking detecting device and an engine control device in such a way that the ignition timing is calculated both by an ignition-timing correcting value that is calculated on the basis of the output of a comparison means for judging the presence of the occurrence of knocking and by a basic ignition timing that is calculated on the basis of the conditions of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A device in which ignition timing is controlled on the basis of the detected value of knocking caused at the time of combustion of an engine 7 is provided with a vibration sensor 151 for detecting the vibration of the engine 7 or the internal-pressure vibration inside the cylinder, and a comparison means by which the vibration included therein is compared with a predetermined knock judging index for judging the presence of the occurrence of knocking. And the device is constituted in such a way that the correction value is calculated on the basis of the output of the comparison means, and a basic ignition timing is calculated on the basis of the conditions of the engine, and that the ignition timing is calculated on the basis of this correction value and the basic ignition timing. In this case, the judgment of comparison means and respective calculations are carried out in a control unit. |
