A central network management controller (NMZ) is connected via a local area network (LAN) to a data processing system (DVA). The network controller has a controller (NST), data memory (AS) and stages storing management (AVR) and accounting routines (ABR). The data processor has an administration programme (APM) memory and controller (CP). Subscribe terminals (KS1-Kn) connect (KN) to the network controller. The processor may be used to enter protocols for the system to be used by different users. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simplifies system administration, e.g. from personal computer to network management central control.
