摘要 The distance and relative velocity between the vehicle and the obstacle are measured by an ultrasonic ranging unit (51) with an arithmetic processor (52) and two laser radar heads (53,54) on opposite sides of the front of the vehicle. A control unit (24) identifies ranges within which a collision is threatened, and alarm buzzer (67) on the dashboard is sounded and the distance displayed (68). A motor (46) is energised to close the throttle, and a vacuum brake servo amplifier (17) is activated to perform emergency braking. ADVANTAGE - Safety and ride stability are improved by maintenance of sufficient vacuum in brake servo system.
