In order to produce a recovery apparatus for excess of water-based paint in paint-spraying cabins, comprising a cabin circulating-water circuit (28), in which such problems with settling particles of water-based paint no longer arise, it is proposed that a volume flow of cabin circulating water flows from the cabin circulating-water circuit (28) via a branch pipe (32) to a preconcentrating stage (34), that the preconcentrating stage (34) has a ring circuit (36) with an ultrafiltration unit (40) which constantly produces in the ring circuit (36) a preconcentrate and a permeate which leaves the ring circuit, that the permeate flows to the cabin circulating-water circuit (28) and the preconcentrate to an end concentrating stage (60), that the end concentrating stage (60) has a ring circuit (62) with an ultrafiltration unit (66) which upgrades the preconcentrate to the end concentrate in batches and produces a permeate which flows to the cabin circulating-water circuit (28).
