The water vortex brake converts mechanical energy into heat. It has a pressure tight housing (1) and has a brake disc (2) in the bottom, and at the top, and these have projecting pins. A rotor (3) spins on the central axle (4) and has vortex discs (5) top and bottom, and the space between these is filled with regulating discs (6). These can have radial projecting pins.
