A film 1 for packaging slice-shaped foodstuffs, such as, for example, cheese slices, is wrapped around the foodstuff as a layflat tube and encloses the foodstuff completely, the two longitudinally axial edge zones of the film overlapping and being bonded to one another by a full-surface or partial heat-sealing layer 4. The film consists of a single-layer or coextruded multi-layer film which is in each case biaxially stretched and heat-fixed and has completely or partially peelable heat-sealing layers and a water-repellent mixture of additive components. The film comprises a polyester film or a coextruded, multi-layer non-sealable polypropylene film having a base layer of propylene polymers and cover layers of olefin polymers, in particular of propylene polymers. The heat-sealing layers consist of a peelable olefin copolymer and/or polyester copolymer, whereas the water-repellent additive component mixture is composed of polyethylene waxes or polypropylene waxes, fatty acid amides and polydialkylsiloxane or paraffins.
