<p>There is disclosed a hollow reinforced metal golf club head (10) in the shape of a driver. The golf club metal head (10) is reinforced by at least one rib (38) and preferably three ribs, each of which extends along or between the internal surface of the striking face (12) and the internal surface of the top side (30) to reinforce both the striking face (12) and the top side (30). In addition, the top side (30) has a pattern of corrugated reinforcing protusions (46), preferably in the shape of gear teeth, extending rearwardly from adjacent the striking face (12). The sole (18) has at least one ridge (48), and preferably three ridges, each of which extends along more than half the length of the sole (18) and terminates short of the striking face (12) and short of the back side (24).</p> |
