A control unit (8) is provided for pre-adjustment of electric parameters necessary for each of the successive recordings, step length and step number of the relative position of the appts. and support (5) and for the aperture setting. The control unit (8) has a computer (10) for performing a calculation based on patient-related data (size, weight, shape) for the pre-adjustment. The computer (10) takes into account the radiation sensor format, and the focus-object and focus-sensor distances for the calculation. A display (12,13) is provided for showing the examined patient, contour, image size in the object plane, aperture adjustment and the radiation field w.r.t. to the patient (6) for each position. ADVANTAGE - Increased number of daily examinations possible.
