Reclamation of contaminated soil - by injecting oxygen@, microorganisms and/or nutrients into sealed area

Reclamation of soil contaminated with mineral oil prods. and other organic substances is effected by: (a) sealing off the contaminated soil from uncontaminated soil by known soil consolidation methods; (b) removing ground water from the contaminated soil; and (c) introducing air or 02 and/or oil-consuming microorganisms and/or N and P sources into the contaminated soil. USE/ADVANTAGE - Areas contaminated to a great depth can be reclaimed (cf. depths of 30-40 cm in HU 181558 and 181817), esp. around chemical factories, storage tanks, barracks and oil refineries, without the need for excavation.
