<p>Assembly has a cylindrical or conical filling and pre-rotting section (2), tapering slightly downwards, followed by a conical further rotting and retention section (4), tapering downwards, with a material retention system (6). The compost prepn. section (5), at the bottom, has a sieve grid (11). A prepn. system (8) with a rake (9) and cutting disc (10) is pref. above the grid (11). The rake (9) has a rounded, sawtooth or notched upper working surface. The grid (11) has straps across the movement of the cutting disc (10), with an opening width of 5-40mm. The grid (11) can be inserted from outside, and is exchangeable. The material retention unit (6) can also be removed from outside the unit, and exchanged. The assembly has at least one easily removed lower side wall (14) and/or at least one easily removed upper side wall (15). USE/ADVANTAGE - The unit is for the conversion of sepd. organic matter, free of hazardous material, into humus with mixing to give a suitable C/N ratio under suitable conditions of temp., moisture, pH value and air movement. It gives a rapid compost action for the finished humus to be extracted continuously, and without new material becoming mixed with previously added vegetable waste.</p> |
