A clamping device is disclosed for securing a cannula (13) in an epidural needle (10). The clamping device comprises a cylindrical housing (28) seated in an epidural needle (10), the housing having a pair of diametrically opposed holes (40, 42) in which the arms (48, 50) of a clip (44) are inserted to loosely receive the cannula (13) or engage the cannula (13) as desired. The clip has a shank (46) with a head (68) at one end with a diameter greater than the diameter of the holes (40, 42). The flexible arms (48, 50) have barbed tips (50, 60) at the distal ends (54, 56) thereof which cooperate with the housing wall whereby the clip (44) can move freely transversely within the housing (28) between the head (68) and the barbed tips (58, 60). <IMAGE> |
