The engine has a piston, formed by two steel plates, mounted at right angles on a rotatable drum. The plates rotate about a common axis, within an air-tight steel drum. An additional steel plate is inserted via a hinge strap, into the stationary inner drum wall, parallel to the drum. After passing a drum, the plate is opened electro- mechanically, and thereby forms a combustion chamber with the piston. An explosive mixture is sucked into the chamber and ignited. The process can be supported by a supercharger. The hinged plate (5) folds back into the drum wall, when a piston arrives at this point. USE/ADVANTAGE - Rotary engine has simplified housing and piston, reduced number of parts subjected to wear.
