Locking device for tiltable cabs of lorries - has shock absorber, which is tilted upwards with cab, and lock on lorry chassis

The device is for use with a lorry cab, which is supported via a shock absorber on the chassis. It has a lock device, to lock a transverse bolt on the end of the shock absorber. The absorber (5) is tilted upwards with the cab (3) and carries the transverse bolt (14) on its lower end. The lock (6) is located on the vehicle chassis (7). The lock is released by a pressure medium cylinder, e.g. a hydraulic cylinder, which is connected to the hydraulic system (2) of the lorry. The lock has a pivoted ratchet, which is moved by the bolt against a spring into locking position. USE/ADVANTAGE - Locking device does not limit access to engine when cab of lorry is tilted upwards, gives easy access for maintenance.
