IMPROVED SOUND PRODUCING GAME BAT

A sound producing game bat (10) includes a generally cylindrical slide tube (120) having a center bore (121) defined therein and a fluted outer surface (123). A generally cylindrical slide weight (130) is received within the center bore (121) of the slide tube (120) and is captivated at the handle end (101) by a resilient dampening plug (150). The hitting end (102) of the game bat (10) includes a sound producing unit (103) having a sound unit housing (140) within which a diaphragm (146) and diaphragm cone (145) are resiliently supported. During swings of the game bat (10) by the batter, the slide weight (130) travels through the center bore (121) of the slide tube (120) and strikes the diaphragm cone (145) causing the diaphragm (146) to vibrate and producing sound effects. A foam covering (105) is molded upon the game bat (10) to enclose virtually the entire bat in a secure attachment.
