Removing water from an azeotropic mixt. involves prevaporation, allowing additional water to be removed, and distillation . USE/ADVANTAGE - The process removes water from azeotropic mixts. in prod. of alcohols e.g. ethanol and isopropanol. The process can be integrated into existing plant using the distillation process in order to relax a capacity limit.
