The amt. of fuel delivered by a pump (24) from the tank (22) is controlled by a PWM amplifier (30) of the signal from a sensor (26) of the position of the throttle valve (18) in the passage between the intake air cleaner (16) and the inlet manifold (14). The valve is operated by means of a rod (20) in accordance with engine requirements estimated by the operator. USE/ADVANTAGE - On e.g. motor vehicles or boats, the pump speed is adjusted by the engine operator, producing less noise at low speeds and delivering a min. flow when the engine is idling.
