Device (2) used, has centering hole (5) which is a hollow pin (4) extending from the floor in a form chamber. Uncovered end area (6) of the light wave conductor (1) is inserted into the centering hole (5) of the hollow pin (4) so that the end of the conductor (1) locates with the face side of its shortened cover on the hollow pin (4). Cover layer in a end area (6) of the light wave conductor is removed from the fibre by about 2-3mm. Freed surface is prepd. by breaking or polishing, before the uncovered end area of the fibre is inserted in the centering hole of the hollow in. As moulding material (9) a two-component foam, eg, polyurethane foam is used. USE/ADVANTAGE - For the accurate and secure centering of the end of a light wave conductor.
