摘要 <p>The method consists in measuring, at a given power condition of an engine, the thickness of the oil layer between the lateral surfaces of the piston and of the cylinder, the cylinder and the piston ring, discretely at the cross sections between the zones of the stop of the piston head in its external dead centre and of the piston skirt at the latter's internal dead centre. The temperature of the piston head is measured and the measured values are used as characterizing parameters. The deviation is determined in relation to standard values for the given type of the engine. Additionally, in the case of deviation of the measured values the position of the piston rings is changed, and the measuring of the thickness of the oil layer and of the temperature of the piston head, and changing of the lateral surface profile of the piston as well as changing of the position of the piston rings, are carried out until results corresponding to the standard values are obtained.</p>
